Painting Exterior of a Residential Home

This single mom customer wanted to begin doing some home improvements to her family home, with the idea to begin the process of selling the property; one of the obvious things needed was a new paint job.

The home had an older look that was fading, from the front to the side entrance to the driveway; the home needed a lighter color she thought and mastermind handyman agreed too.

On the side entrance I began by sanding down the railing, so that when I applied the bright white it would stick well; and this would be the same white used on throughout the exterior of the home.

I then began to use the light gray she picked on the steps entry slab, the same color used throughout the entire floor.

Similar application of paint was to be applied to the front entrance of the home, i painted the walls with the light gray customer wanted and also the entry slab; the poles and the door trim had the bright white used to compliment the overall look.

before I began cutting around was a good idea to allow for a simplier finishing application.

I found myself on the driveway of the home, located next to the laundry closet or more of a shed if you will; and I began by cleaning off any debris before beginning to paint.

One thing I like doing which helps with painting is cutting around the area where I am getting ready to start as this helps with speeding the rolling application.

Before I begin painting a section of a wall or a floor, I always like to begin with a cutting layout so I can see how it looks and how the paint dries; this allows me to determine in which way I should continue the rest of my painting application.
